Spring is an exciting time at The Gardens. Come witness thousands of flowering bulbs, shrubs and trees bursting forth. It’s the perfect time to take in fresh colours and to breathe refreshing scents. Photos
Things get even better in the summer. You’ll experience dramatic floral displays during the day and subtle plays of light and shadow in the evening titled 'Night Illuminations' which operate from June 15 to September 15. From Canada Day to the Labour Day weekend you can enjoy incredible concerts and the Saturday Night Firework Show. Photos.
As warm days transition to crisp nights, a stunning parade of red, russet and golden maples make their mark at The Gardens. It’s the best time to visit the tranquility of the Japanese Garden before winter arrives. In November, visitors can book a Greenhouse Tour to get a behind-the-scenes look at some of our production greenhouses. Photos.
Many think spring and summer are the only times to visit—they’re missing out. With our temperate climate, winter is an ideal time to experience the subtle beauty of our shrubs and trees, along with such flowers as dainty snowdrops, lush hellebore, and more. For much of winter you can explore our Historical Display and stroll through the Spring Prelude indoor garden. Photos.
Christmas lights, holiday wreaths, carollers, ice skating, festive dining—it’s an exciting time at The Gardens. In fact, there’s so much happening from December 1st through January 6th, we refer to it as the Magic of Christmas season.
Enjoy the traditions of the season with our Twelve Days of Christmas displays placed throughout the gardens. Sing the song as you walk along.
During the Magic of Christmas season, if you are 12 years old or younger, bring a paper snowflake you've made and exchange it for a cup of hot chocolate in the Coffee Shop. (Limit of one per day.) Perhaps your snowflake will adorn one of our windows.
* During the Magic of Christmas season, the Japanese Garden closes at 4 pm. It is not part of the festive light display.
