2016 Wedding Trends in Victoria

Daphne blooming at The Butchart Gardens

The Wedding Season at The Gardens is well underway and there are still lots of couples to say “I do” before it’s over on March 31.  Between attending the Bridal Exhibition on January 17th and getting prepared for the Modern Bride Show, Saturday, January 30th, we’ve seen some exciting and new trends for spring!

We spoke with Sharon of Sharon Rai Hair and Makeup Artistry to find out what trends are popular for the spring 2016 wedding season. Trends in makeup, hair, and dresses are hot and nicely complement our beautiful Spring Prelude garden wedding venue for sure. In Sharon's words:

Makeup - English Rose Glow

Daphne is beautiful in a spring garden, and a makeup trend we are seeing now, is the English Rose Glow.  Playing on your natural beauty, add soft pinks and corals to the lips, cheeks, and eyes.  Enhance your look, just like daphne.

Hair - Chignons

A chignon is an elegant and timeless style. To give it a modern look, add a rope-braid to the chignon, reminiscent of a flower in bloom.

The Dress - Traditional Victorian

This hair & makeup style goes perfectly with the spring trend of returning to tradition, with Victorian touches. We are also seeing high necklines, lace, and long sleeves; all inspirations from the Victorian era.

Interested in trying out these beautiful spring trends in a spring garden wedding? There are still a few dates available for the 2016 Weddings Season in our weather proof Spring Prelude indoor garden. Ask us about availability!
