Christmas Menus 2014

Christmas at The Gardens means breathtakingly spectacular Christmas light displays, and also fabulous, mouth-watering, hearty food! Realising that people want choice, we have a variety of dining experiences: 

The Dining Room Restaurant which serves high tea from 12 noon until 3 pm every day during the Magic of Christmas opens from 5 pm to 8 pm nightly for dinner - Christmas dining at its best.  Everything is made in-house, using local ingredients where possible, presided over by our Executive Chef, Travis Hansen. Protip: if you are thinking about having the Apple tarte tatin for dessert (highly recommended), order at the beginning of the meal as it takes time to prepare from scratch. The Blue Poppy Restaurant, with its relaxed setting and conservatory atmosphere, serves dinner from 4 pm to 8 pm daily. The desserts are de rigeur here - especially the cranberry trifle and the Baileys chocolate cookie cheesecake! Vegetarian and gluten-free options abound and like The Dining Room Restaurant, we buy locally. The BC wild salmon is line caught, the mouth watering rotisserie chicken is also from the Cowichan Valley and the shortbread cookies are made in our pastry kitchen. Can't make it for dinner? The Coffee Shop, conveniently located in Waterwheel Square, is where your garden stroll begins and skaters glide during the Magic of Christmas. You’ll find an extensive menu of quick and convenient foods and drinks: fresh coffee, specialty coffees including Brown Cinnamon Steamer, Pumpkin Pie Latte, Peppermint Mocha, London Fog, Gingerbread Latte, and Salted Caramel Mocha among others - tea, house-made sandwiches and pastries. Protip: Kids under 12, once per day, bring in a hand-made snowflake and receive a free child's hot chocolate. Menu

Cranberry trifle:  layered cranberry compote, diplomat cream, and sponge cake with whipped cream.
