Flower and Garden Report June 25, 2015

The Rose Garden lawn
As you stroll through The Gardens you'll be treated with overwhelming colour wherever you look. The Rose Garden, plus the annual and perennial borders, continue to get better every day! I get asked constantly what are my favorite flowers or plants and I have to say that it changes almost every time I walk around the gardens. For the next few weeks I thought I'd share with you my 'today's' favorites.

My favorite combination planting is a border with Petunia 'Sweetunia Black Satin' and Lantana 'Landmark Sunrise Rose. The petunias are virtually black and the rosy lantana blooms really accent their colour--located near the Sunken Garden lake. My flower for this week is Abutilon megapotanicum. These plants are just loaded with very unique bell shaped flowers. You can find these plants in containers at the Carousel. Honourable mention has to go to the fabulous giant Asiatic lilies located throughout our perennial borders. Enjoy!
