Flower and Garden Report September 30th

The days are definitely getting cooler, but we have been basking in the warm glow of early autumn sunshine for the past week. With the humidity being high at this time of the year and the cool, clear nights the garden is blanketed with a thick layer of dew each morning. Autumn is truly a wonderful time of change in the garden.

In the garden many of the summer plantings have been changed over to colourful chrysanthemums and our creative staff have designed and installed some unique seasonal displays filled with an unusual assortment of gourds, pumpkins and interesting plants.

The roses are continuing to show good colour, but they are fading fast as the cooler nights are taking their toll. The Dahlias are really beginning to take center stage at this time of year as their magnificent blooms seem to captivate our visitors and draw them in - sometimes they are drawn in too far as the occasional visitor jumps right into the flower bed for a personal photo! I suppose that plants do have their own magnetism!

Of course there are many more reasons to visit the garden at this delightful time of year and we sincerely hope that you have the opportunity to experience all that we have to offer.
