Flower Report for August 14, 2014

This week we began the formal planning process of designing next year’s summer floral display. The garden beds are at their fullest and most colourful which provides us with the best opportunity to see where we can make adjustments and improvements. Each year we make multiple changes to improve future displays and also to ensure that any visitor who returns year after year will never see the exact same display. A highlight for this week are the magnificent Dahlias which are adding more blooms of all shapes and sizes – some blooms are measuring more than 12” in diameter! The perennial borders also dazzle with a vast array of exceptional colours, forms and textures which further enhance the visual feast.
