T for Two begins its second year with extra horsepower

Victoria, BC - Two 100-plus year old icons of the local tourism industry
re-unite tomorrow on the front lawn of The Fairmont Empress with The
Butchart Gardens' Model T Ford pickup returning for an extended stay on
the lawn.
The two Victoria landmarks will use the flower bedecked truck and The
Gardens' staff to act as ambassadors not only for The Fairmont Empress
and The Gardens, but also Greater Victoria. This year the Model T has
increased its horsepower by one, with the addition of a mounted police
horse from the carousel to the pickup’s bed. The statue is from the
Garden’s newest attraction, The Rose Carousel.

Victoria, BC -- “The Butchart Gardens is proud to be a Feature Garden on
the 2010 VIA Rail Garden Route, Canada’s first national Garden Tourism
initiative,” said Dave Cowen, general manager of The Gardens.
“From now to September 6th, when you visit The Gardens, be sure to fill
out a ballot for a chance to win a round trip for two in VIA First Class
to Ottawa and the Canadian Tulip Festival in the spring of 2011,” added
Cowen.

Thailand Princess makes private visit to The Gardens

Victoria, BC -- HRH Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, the youngest daughter
of Thailand’s King, and her entourage made a private visit to The
Butchart Gardens today for a tour of the gardens.
