The serving of food and beverage at The Butchart Gardens began soon after Jennie Butchart started having people drop by to view her gardening handiwork. From those early days of cups of tea served on the lawn, The Gardens has expanded its offerings to include simple, tasty fare to exquisitely prepared fine lunches and dinners.

Our commitment to quality means that whenever possible, products are made on site by our Executive Chef Travis Hansen and his culinary team. Some examples include the chocolate Grand Marnier truffles and our signature candied ginger scone on our Afternoon Tea, Italian sausages made from Vancouver Island pork without binders or preservatives, our pastries, sausage rolls, and all of our soups and sauces.

Our restaurants, coffee shop and seasonal outlets are within The Gardens so admission to The Gardens is necessary.
