Continue your wedding day with a fine dining experience in our Dining Room Restaurant. Located in the historic former Butchart family residence, it is the perfect intimate location for you and your guests to celebrate.
Our culinary team’s menus are based on local farm-fresh ingredients. Close working relationships with local suppliers ensure they receive only the best quality ingredients. The approach to food preparation and wine pairing reflect the family traditions set by the Butcharts over a century ago.
Executive Chef Travis Hansen was born and raised on the Saanich Peninsula. He has first hand knowledge of local farms and vineyards, and he works closely with farmers to obtain the freshest quality foods. “Every season brings with it new and exciting products we are able to turn into mouth-watering creations,” says the passionate chef. Gordon O’Neill, Chef de Cuisine joined the team in 2005 and his passion is centered on the creation of dynamic menus. Pastry Chef Keith Tran has been at the helm of the pastry department since 1990 and was a part of developing our Afternoon Tea and numerous sensational sweets.
After the ceremony, continue to enjoy the Spring Prelude Indoor Gardens with a reception featuring passed canapés and a champagne toast. Guests mingle while you have your first photos taken as a married couple.
Choose a menu for your guests from our locally inspired cuisine to be served in the Dining Room Restaurant.
We offer both basic and deluxe bar services. Basic Bars include white and red house wine, domestic beer, stock liquor selection, soft drinks and sparkling water. Deluxe Bars include all items from the Basic Bar plus cocktails, select white and red wine, imported beer and juice.
You will find we have the finest regional wines to pair with our gourmet meals. Special orders are available on request.

We offer wedding locations from January 15 – March 15 each year. The Spring Prelude indoor garden is available for ceremonies and standing receptions. The Dining Room is available for standing receptions and served dinners.
The Spring Prelude indoor garden is a colourful and delightfully scented indoor garden perfect for wedding ceremonies and a champagne reception for up to 60 guests. Many couples have decided to have their ceremony in this lovely space due its intimate nature and all-weather availability. Rain or shine, you’ll be surrounded by lovely plants and flowers.
The Dining Room Restaurant offers an intimate setting for a stand up reception and a served dinner. Located in the Butchart family’s former residence and overlooking Jennie Butchart’s private garden, you and your guests will enjoy a locally inspired menu while celebrating your marriage.

Wedding Season: Weddings may be held between January 15 and March 31. Only wedding parties with confirmed reservations are permitted entry.
Site Inspection and Checklist: Every wedding couple must attend our wedding site inspection prior to booking. You will receive a comprehensive checklist. To confirm your wedding event, the package price must be paid in full 3 months prior to the wedding.
Photos and the gardens: Wedding photos (as outlined in the packages) are only permitted during Wedding Season and may be taken anywhere in the gardens with the exception of designated areas which will be clearly pointed out on your site inspection. The gardens will be open to the public and the wedding party must yield the right of way to other visitors and not impede pathways.
Payment: Payment methods accepted: cash, traveler’s cheque, Visa, Mastercard and Discover card. All prices are quoted in Canadian dollars. Foreign currency exchange rates will be calculated on the day of transaction.
Admission: Admission to The Butchart Gardens is included in your wedding package.
Service Charges & Taxes: All food and beverage is subject to a service charge, except where noted. 15% table and bar service, 10% other services (e.g. Receptions)
