Event Planning and Group Food Services
Any event you plan with us is backed by the enduring tradition of gracious hospitality at The Gardens. Unique group venue choices range from elegant five course dinners for up to 150, to buffet style menus for up to 180, to indoor receptions for 400, to tented BBQs and gourmet picnics.
We now have a Wedding Season which runs from January 15th to March 31st every year. With the potential disruption to other visitors we must say no to all wedding ceremonies, receptions, appearance in wedding attire and wedding photography outside our Wedding Season.
We take great pride in presenting exceptional and innovative menus, using the very best ingredients from local Vancouver Island suppliers, whenever possible. Our professional staff will strive to meet all your expectations and make your event one you and your group will long remember.
We have five venues for your consideration, and depending on your needs and time of year.

The Dining Room Restaurant
Housed in the original Butchart residence, the Dining Room Restaurant showcases events elegantly. It offers quiet, private and comfortable dining facilities with three separate rooms boasting spectacular views of the Private Garden, or the Italian Garden and Tod Inlet. Also, the wrap-around veranda overlooking the residence lawn can be used for a reception of up to 30 people. The maximum seating capacity is 104 during dining room operating hours. After hours, when the Conservatory may be used, the capacity is 150 people.
Room Capacities: The White Room seats 42, The Tango Room seats 38, The Breakfast Room seats 24 and The Conservatory (when available) seats 46.

The Blue Poppy Restaurant
Set in a flower-filled conservatory styled setting, the Blue Poppy Restaurant offers fully served or buffet style menus with a West Coast flair. It is suitable for a sit down meal dinner for 180, or a standup reception for 400 people.

The Residence Lawn
Adjoining the Dining Room Restaurant, the Residence Lawn offers manicured lawn space for relaxed and informal picnics between June 1st and September 30th. Enjoy the carefree atmosphere with checkered cloths, and gourmet picnics presented in wicker baskets.

The Fireworks Lawn
Located in a picturesque area with a view of the fireworks area, the Fireworks Lawn is suitable for groups of 100 to 200 people. It is available May 15th through September 15th (except Fireworks Saturdays). Your guests will dine alfresco under canopy tents, complete with checkered table cloths, candles, linen napkins and silverware.

The Italian Garden
The Italian Garden is available only after regular hours in the shoulder seasons for receptions of up to 100 people.

The Coffee Shop
The Coffee Shop offers a selection of sandwiches, soups, coffees and baked goods for your group to enjoy. Boxed lunches are also available. Perfect for those groups who don't have the time for a full meal.
