Victoria, BC – The Butchart Gardens was delighted to host a private luncheon held by Premier Gordon Campbell for China’s Guangdong Province Governor Huang Huahua and his delegation.

Premier Campbell along with senior government officials and invited business leaders joined Governor Huang Huahua and his delegation in The Gardens’ Blue Poppy restaurant for a luncheon featuring local West Coast foods.

In his concluding remarks Premier Campbell presented general manager Arild Solbakken with a certificate expressing the province’s sincere appreciation for hosting the visit of the official delegation from Guangdong who joined the Province in commemorating the spirit of enduring friendship as they celebrate the twinning of Guangdong and British Columbia.

Governor Huang Huahua presented Solbakken with an intricate boxed vase and he promised every visitor to Canada from Guangdong would certainly come to visit The Gardens.

After lunch the Chinese delegation toured the gardens to view the fall colours before departing for other engagements.
