Princess Cruises recognizes outstanding 2014 Alaska cruise shore excursion

September 25, 2014

Victoria, BC – Princess Cruises recently recognized its Alaska Co-shore Excursions of the 2014 Season for their outstanding customer service. Shore excursions in Juneau, Ketchican, Skagway and Victoria were chosen to recognize companies exceeding passengers’ expectations and providing quality, personalized experiences ashore.

In Victoria, the only named outstanding shore excursion was offered by D’Costa Ports of Call for its “Butchart Gardens, Wine, Chocolate & Edible Petals” program. This program offered a four-hour excursion including a scenic tour of the city leading to Butchart Gardens. Passengers were able to walk about the various gardens, before rejoining the group in the Blue Poppy Restaurant for a unhurried tasting of three Vancouver Island wines while savoring a plate of tapas including chorizo with caramelized onions, fried olives with rosemary and more. Participants also had a taste of the gardens with an array of edible petals such as calendula, nasturtiums or pansies followed by a number of delectable chocolate truffles.

On the return trip, passengers were toured through the Inner Harbour area before embarking their ship in preparation for their next adventure.

“We are very pleased to have helped D’Costa Ports of Call in developing this special program,” said Group Services manager Daphne Gardner at The Butchart Gardens. “We encourage other tour operators to come to us with their special requests and to help them develop their own special programs.”
