We are a resource for classes focusing on environment, science, and history studies. Our student Discovery Walk can be booked through our Group Services Department and printed off in advance of a visit.
Student Field Trips may be booked for the period October 15 to April 15th only.
Important: Before your visit, please read the Field Trip Policies (pdf) for Student and Youth Groups that wish to visit The Gardens and ensure you share it with your chaperones. (see below for translated policies) Bring a signed copy and present upon arrival at our admissions gate to receive your tickets.
All youth and children's groups wishing to visit The Gardens must email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 250-652-4422 (ext. 320) to arrange specific details a minimum of 24 hours prior to visit.
Please note, quiet voices are expected in all areas, no running or games in The Gardens. Costumes and period style or historical dress is not permitted. For more information please view our Garden Etiquette.
Translated Student and Youth Groups Policies
School teachers appreciate the enjoyable hands-on field trip supports the BC Ministry of Education Science Curriculum. Our student Discovery Walk is self-guided and designed for Grade 3-7 students as well as ESL students. The walk takes in four key areas: the Sunken Garden, the Totems, the Japanese Garden and the Italian Garden. The 1.5 hour program is available in both English and French.
The walks are free but admission to The Gardens is required and advance reservations are required. See rates. We offer one complimentary adult chaperone admission for each group of 10 students; any additional adults receive the group rate. Please note this program is not available on Firework Saturdays or Special Event days. To help plan your trip we offer:

Groups of 25 or more adults arriving by bus and paying in one lump sum are offered a lower rate. The bus driver and tour escort are admitted to The Gardens free of charge. Groups of youth or children require reservations please email email@example.com
If you are arranging a visit with an adult group or adult resident home registered with VIHA, please contact us regarding special adult pricing at least 24 hours before planned arrival. Special pricing is not available on Firework Saturdays or Special Event days. The gardens and restaurants are wheelchair accessible.
