We welcome local school field trips from October 15 to April 15 ONLY and require advance reservations as The Gardens will only accommodate up to 60 students at a time. All visits are based on availability.
Email Group Services at email@example.com with school name, contact information, requested date, arrival time and group size including a breakdown of children (5-12), youth (13-17) and adult chaperones. Adult chaperones are expected to remain with and manage their groups at all times during the visit. The Gardens require a minimum of one adult chaperone for every 10 students, complimentary admission will be provided for these chaperones to manage and supervise.
Important: Before your visit, please read our Field Trip Policies (pdf) and return the signed form a minimum of 24 hours in advance of arrival. Ensure this is distributed to all teacher and parent chaperones prior to the visit. Separate policies are in place during our Christmas Season (pdf) for field trips from December 1 – January 6th.
Please note: Quiet voices are expected in all areas, no running or games in The Gardens and scavenger hunts are not permitted as they are too disruptive to other visitors. Costumes and period style or historical dress is not permitted. For more information please view our Garden Etiquette.

Groups of 25 or more adults arriving by bus and paying in one lump sum are offered a lower rate. The bus driver and tour escort (with *Butchart Gardens Photo ID) are admitted to The Gardens free of charge.
*All Bus Driver and Tour Staff now require the NEW Butchart Gardens Tour Staff Photo Identification Card. All tour staff, upon their first visit of the season, must present valid company identification to receive this Butchart Gardens ID card. This card must be presented for every subsequent visit and is valid for 3 years. Cards are issued at the Turnstiles Ticket Office prior to entering.

If you are arranging a visit with an adult group or adult resident home registered with VIHA, please contact us regarding special adult pricing at least 24 hours before planned arrival. Special pricing is not available on Firework Saturdays or Special Event days. The gardens and restaurants are wheelchair accessible.
