Pass Holder Information at Christmas
This provides you with important information regarding your pass for the upcoming Magic of Christmas season. We have arranged this message in a FAQ format in the hopes that you will be able to quickly access information and answers that are most relevant to you.

Is The Magic of Christmas season included with my 12 Month Pass?
Yes! Please note that from December 1-January 6 we are only open for late afternoon/evening visits, from 3pm until 10pm daily. For the safety of all visitors, pets are only permitted between 8pm-10pm. To ensure you receive your 10% discount in the food services facilities and the Seed & Gift Store, please present your pass at time of purchase.
I’m a 12 MP holder; do I need to book timed entrance tickets for the Magic of Christmas season?
It is strongly recommended that you reserve your entrance time in advance of your visit. On busy evenings when we have reached capacity, only those with timed entrance tickets will be admitted. To avoid disappointment, please ensure that everyone arriving in your vehicle has a timed entrance ticket.
If you are uncertain about the date of your visit, you can reserve your tickets same day, subject to availability.
You may also purchase discounted “Guest of a 12 Month Pass Holder” tickets for up to 4 adults arriving with you. You are welcome to reserve tickets for other 12 Month Pass holders, as pass numbers are not required at time of booking. Pass verification takes place at the Admission Gate.
How do I reserve my Magic of Christmas visit?
There is a red “Christmas Tickets” button above on this page. Once you have clicked on that, the following screenshots will take you through the initial steps for booking your visit. You do not need your 12 Month Pass number to do this.
What happens if I need to cancel or rebook my visit?
If your reservation does not include a purchased ticket (guest, youth or child), you may cancel it by forwarding your confirmation email to ticketsupport@butchartgardens.com and changing the title of the email to “PLEASE CANCEL THIS ORDER”. You may then proceed with a new booking.
If your reservation does include a purchased ticket, we are unable to cancel the reservation as tickets are non-refundable. We ask that you rebook your visit, using the “Rebooking” option, and bring both your original tickets and your re-booked tickets with you. The first set of tickets shows proof of payment, the second shows the revised date &/or time of entry.
If you are unable to visit with us during this Magic of Christmas season, tickets with a monetary value never expire and can be used towards a future visit with us. One ticket may be used towards a 12 Month Pass renewal.
How do I find out when my 12 Month Pass is going to expire? How do I renew my pass?
Three weeks prior to your pass expiring, you will receive an email notification from us. You may also call or email us and we would be happy to look up your expiry date. Additionally, you can set up an account on our 12 Month Pass Information page (link here and instructions below) to view your expiry date, and renew your expired pass.
My 12MP has expired, or will have expired by the time I arrive; how do I renew it AND get a Magic of Christmas reservation?
You may proceed with booking a “12 Month Pass Holder” timed entrance ticket and if applicable, “Guest of a 12 Month Pass Holder” timed entrance tickets on our website and present them to the Admission Gate staff upon arrival. They will charge you the full amount of a 12 Month Pass, and your pass is reactivated for another year.
If you retained your plastic pass, there is no need to have it reissued. If you did not retain your pass, you will need to have a new one issued at the Information Centre. We recommend you do this early in your visit, so that you may access your pass discounts.

What is the quietest time to visit during The Magic of Christmas season?
The quietest times to visit are weekdays during the first two weeks of December, and after 7:30pm daily.
What happens if I cannot visit due to extreme weather? How will I know if The Gardens are closed?
Please see the previous section that addresses cancelling and rebooking tickets. Purchased tickets never expire, and hold their value for a future visit. Tickets are non-refundable.
If we are forced to close due to extreme weather, there will be a message on our homepage informing you of this.

When does your 12 Month Pass expire?
We no longer print an expiry date on your 12-Month Pass to reduce plastic waste and save you time when renewing. You may now create an online account for yourself, allowing you to view your expiry date, renew your pass, and change your contact information. You can also check your expiry date at the Admission Gate and in the Information Centre.
We have installed a self-serve scanner in the Information Centre that will display your expiry date when you swipe your pass through it.
How to Create a 12 Month Pass Account

- Click on the green lettering to move you to the next page.
- Now click on “Create an Account” to get started.
- Once you click on “Create an Account”, a box will expand below. Using the Membership Lookup feature will expedite the process as it will autofill the information you provided when you purchased your 12 Month Pass.
- Please make sure to accurately fill in the fields. Any fields with a red line are required.
- If the information that auto filled is no longer accurate, you can update it after you have
12 Month Pass Renewal Information
Passes can only be renewed AFTER they have expired. As a result, in order to get the most out of your pass renewal, we recommend that you wait until you wish to return to The Gardens for a visit.
Pass holders can simply use their pass until the time that our admission gate attendant informs them that it has expired. You can then simply renew your card at the admission gate.
You can create a pass-holder account for yourself online, where you will be able to view the expiry date, renew your pass and edit personal contact information.
Additionally, we have installed a self-serve scanner in the Information Centre that will display your expiry date when you swipe your pass through it.
Renewing your 12 Month Pass Online

- From here you may choose the ‘Pass Renewal’ option
- You will then be able to choose the most appropriate option for yourself depending on whether you have an account or not.
- If you have an account, log in, click on the “Memberships” tab and then the green “Renew” button.
- Renewals can be accomplished online without an account, however, your pass must be in a 30 day expiry window in order for you to do so. The system will let you know if this is the case. You will need to create an account in order to access your exact expiry date.
Navigating Your 12 Month Pass Account

- As an existing account holder, simply click the black “Account Login” button on the right to fast track to the login page.
- Once you have successfully logged in to your account, you will notice three tabs in grey: Account Information, Orders and Memberships.
- Account Information tab allows you to change your password and edit account information.
- Orders tab allows you to view previous passes and tickets purchased online.
- Memberships tab allows you to view your expiry date and renew your pass (once it’s within the 30 day expiry window).

THE PURCHASE OF A 12 MONTH PASS ENTITLES YOU TO A YEAR’S WORTH OF VIEWING THE GARDENS ONLY.
Admission restrictions apply on Firework Saturdays and Special Event Days, when offered.
Pass Benefits:
- 10% discount in the award-winning Dining Room Restaurant, the Blue Poppy Restaurant, Coffee Shop, Annabelle’s Café, the Gelateria and specialty food carts.
- Excluding alcohol. Not valid with other discounts, promotions or events.
- 10% discount on in-store purchases from the Seed & Gift Store and seasonal Gallery for Pass holder only.
- Excludes gift cards, prepaid tickets, and postage stamps. Not valid for online shopping.
- Up to 4 adult guests arriving with an Adult 12 Month Pass holder will receive a 10% discount on admission.
- Cannot be combined with any other offer. Excludes Youth and Child passes.
- Please note that The Magic of Christmas season is included with a 12 Month Pass and is not considered a “Special Event”.
Additional Benefits when possible:
- Discount on admission for Special Events for Adult 12 Month Pass holders. Refer to our entertainment calendar for Special Event dates.

- Complimentary evening entertainment in the summer months (excluding Firework Saturday & Special Events).

12 Month Pass Admission Restrictions
Pass Restrictions:
- On Firework Saturdays and Special Event Days, access to The Gardens is only permitted until 4pm.
- Payment for admission will be required, and will be refunded provided departure is by 4pm.
- On these dates, please expect alternate parking that is further from the entrance. Close parking is unavailable.
- The 12 Month Pass does not include entertainment that takes place on Firework Saturdays, when offered.
