Online 12 Month Pass Renewals
12 Month Passes can be renewed year after year, so please do not discard them.
- Passes can only be renewed AFTER they have expired.
- Pass-holders require their 18-digit pass number to enter.
- In Renewals, Pass-holders have the option of creating their own personal account. An account allows pass-holders to view their pass expiry date, and edit addresses and contact information.
- The renewed pass will become valid for 365 days after you have received the emailed confirmation. To get the most out of your pass, we recommend that pass-holders wait until they are about to return to the Gardens for a visit before renewing their pass.
When does your pass expire?
- Pass-holders can simply use their pass until the time that our admission gate attendant informs you that it has expired. You can then renew your card at the admission gate.
- We have installed a self-serve scanner in the Information Centre that will display your expiry date when you swipe your pass through it.
- You can create a pass-holder account for yourself in Renewals online, and view the expiry date in your account.
THE PURCHASE OF A 12 MONTH PASS ENTITLES YOU TO A YEAR’S WORTH OF VIEWING THE GARDENS ONLY.
Admission restrictions apply on Firework Saturdays and Special Event Days, when offered.

- Excluding alcohol. Not valid with other discounts, promotions or events.
- 10% discount on in-store purchases from the Seed & Gift Store.
- Excludes gift cards, prepaid tickets, and postage stamps. Not valid for online shopping.
- Adult 12 Month Pass Holders will receive a 10% discount on admission for up to 4 adult guests arriving together.
- Cannot be combined with any other offer. Excludes Youth and Child passes.
- Complimentary evening entertainment in July and August (excluding Firework Saturdays).

In order to receive your discount in the Food Service venues and the Gift Store, your pass must be presented.
The 12 Month Pass is non-transferable and non-refundable.
12 Month Passes are not valid after 4:00pm on Firework Saturdays or Special Event days, when offered. 12 Month Pass holders who arrive for a daytime visit on a Firework Saturday or Special Event day will be charged our full Adult rate which will be fully refunded if they depart by 4:00pm. Pass holders will be parked at the southern end of the Bus Parking Lot and must enter and exit The Gardens through the Turnstiles. Please note close parking will not be available on these days.
All sales of Annual Passes are final and nonrefundable. Annual Passes and associated pass benefits are exclusively for non-commercial use by individual pass-holders and cannot be sold or transferred. Pass benefits are printed on the front of the Pass. Pass-holder must present Pass to gain entry at Admission Gate, and to receive the benefits offered by THE BUTCHART GARDENS’ restaurants or gift store (“THE GARDENS”). Notwithstanding anything else in this Visitor’s Agreement, Annual Passes are not valid after 4:00pm on Firework Saturdays and Special Event Days, and on these days, for the entire day, 12 Month Pass-holders WILL BE CHARGED ADMISSION WHICH WILL BE REFUNDED IF THEY LEAVE BY 4 PM. Regular parking will not be available and pass holders must follow the direction of traffic staff. It is the responsibility of the pass-holder to determine the dates on which their Pass is not valid each year by checking www.butchartgardens.com. All Passes are licenses revocable at will by THE GARDENS. The Pass will be seized and automatically revoked without refund if it is used by someone other than the pass-holder whose photo appears on the Pass, or if the pass-holder conducts themselves in a way considered to be unsuitable by THE GARDENS.
We are extending all 12 Month Passes that are valid between January 23 – February 5, 2023 by the total number of days we will be closed (14).
